Comment: Scintillating, gemmy and lustrous, apple-green pyromorphite prisms cover the iron oxide-coated baryte matrix of this superb specimen from the Chaillac Mine of France. Specimens of this size and richness are very seldom on the market. There are some contacted crystal tips, but in truth, very few broken crystals amidst hundreds on this large and showy specimen. I believe these came out in the 1970s. Ex. Robert Nowakowski Collection - obtained in an exchange with him, so I will risk this at auction. Normally, this would be strictly a gallery priced specimen if i got it by purchase. It is SUPERB for what it is, and I have not had better

Minerals: Pyromorphite (Pb5(PO4)3Cl)
