Comment: An outstanding and classic combination specimen of orpiment with hutchinsonite from what is undoubtedly the world's best location for the hutchinsonite crystals. Striking and beautiful, mounded, spherical aggregates of lustrous, translucent burnt-orange to sulfur-yellow orpiment blades richly and aesthetically cover the massive sulfide matrix. Hidden and nearly covered in the lower center by orpiment crystals is a 6 mm bundle of lustrous, metallic, hutchinsonite blades. This is also a highly unusual and rare form of Quiruvilca orpiment. An exceptional and rare combination specimen of this rare THALLIUM containing species. This very fine specimen is from the heyday of production at Quiruvlica in the 1970s. Ex Consie Prince Collection. AND IT HAPPENS TO BE pretty, unlike most such hutch's
Minerals: Hutchinsonite ((Pb,Tl)2As5S9)
