Comment: Jade is one of the most popular "non gem quality" stones around. The material is often only translucent, but the beautiful traditional green color is what attracts collectors. This "Oval Cabochon" cut gem has a dark olive color, and is translucent under strong light. The stone is from Alaska and is one of the only pieces of this material that we've seen. A really cool stone for somebody who might want to set it into jewelry.

Minerals: Jadeite (Na(Al,Fe+++)Si2O6)
