Comment: A very attractive floater sample (0.450 Kg) of golden Barite recently found in the Riu Bachera mine, a small open pit operation more known in Sardinia for the quality of the collectable samples rather than for the industrial production. It features a cluster of undamaged, perfectly terminated crystals with a small massive barite matrix on one side . This sample was found inside a pocket in a calcite vein , free from the calcite matrix that was leached by acid fluids and we can see a very good luster on one side while a milkish opacity due to the contact with the calcite can be observed on the other one.
Minerals: Barite (BaSO4)
